Committees


    Communications (meets the 1st Monday of every month at 12 pm) - Chair TBD


    The Communications Committee is committed to establishing consistent & transparent communication, allowing for connection between the Chamber Board, Chamber Staff, and its members.
    Hospitality (meets as needed) - Chair Jolene Jaehne

    The Hospitality Committee helps to plan the Patriotic Festival, the Chamber Banquet, plan County-wide Mixers & Business After Hours, develop programs for the monthly luncheons, review the River of Lights and enhance our Ribbon Cutting activities.  
    Ambassadors (meets the 3rd Friday of every month at 11:30 am) - Chair Larry Lynn

    The Ambassador Committee is the welcome arm of the Chamber. This group of volunteers attend all our Ribbon Cuttings to welcome new businesses and celebrate their accomplishments such as an anniversary of existing businesses, as well as taking out Welcome Bags to our new members.
    Membership (meets the 3rd Friday of every month at 11:30 am) - Chair Brittany Rogers

    The Membership Committee actively recruits chamber members from business, civic, and educational sectors of the Bastrop area by promoting membership benefits and orienting new members toward active participation. The Membership Committee is the link between the Chamber and its members and informs members about chamber activities. The Membership Committee is a catalyst for creating new programs and activities tailored to the needs of members.  
    Business & Governmental Affairs (meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 8:00 am) - Chair Kevin Plunkett

    The mission of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to promote business success by providing representation and leadership on economic, community and workforce development in the Bastrop area. We are committed to promoting the interests of our members to help the business community grow and prosper. We seek to strengthen, support and promote economic growth, cultural richness, environmental welfare and the quality of life.

    We are a strong advocate for businesses at the local, state, and federal levels of government, and communicate the Chamber’s viewpoint clearly to our membership, elected officials, and the community at large.
    Education (meets the 1st Friday of every month at 8:30 am) - Chair Jolene Jaehne

    The Education Committee works with Bastrop ISD to improve its public image and help develop positive activities in the education arena.
    Resources (1st Thursday of every month at 8:30 am) - Chair Jami Haney

    The Resource Committee was established as a “source of supply, support, or aid, especially one that can be readily drawn upon when needed.”  The Resource Committee will work with local experts and organizations to develop a “Business Readiness, Response & Recovery” Plan as well as community service opportunities.
