Dozens of non-profit civic organizations offer numerous community service opportunities. Musical, comedy and other cultural productions are held throughout the year at the historic Bastrop Opera House, a fine old theater built in 1889. First run movies, bowling, a video arcade, a food court and a pool room are available at the Chestnut Square Family Entertainment Center.
