Parks
Bastrop is home to several
unique parks and recreation areas that were
designed with a variety of activities in mind.
Bastrop State Park was
built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the
1930’s. It is located in the heart of the Lost
Pines area and has an outdoor swimming pool, 18-Hole
Golf Course, 13 cabins that overlook a small lake,
camping facilities, and hiking and bike trails. For

McKinney Roughs
Environmental Learning Center has nature
programs for children and adults that are scheduled
throughout the year. They have hiking trails and
equestrian trails for horseback riding. They have a
large outdoor amphitheater where they have concerts

Fisherman’s Park, a city facility located on
the Colorado River, offers a very entertaining
activity area for young and old alike, including
tennis court, soccer field, sand lot volley ball,
basket ball goals, boat ramp, and a duck feeding
area. The riverwalk located along the Colorado
River reaches from Fisherman’s Park to Ferry Park.
It also hosts the Bastrop Holiday River of Lights
trail from the day after Thanksgiving until January
1. Several other festivals take place in this city

Bob Bryant Park,
a new 25 acre city
park, which contains a large covered pavilion and
boat launching facilities, is open from 6 am to 10
pm seven days a week. It is located at 600 Charles
Boulevard (behind the Riverside Grove Addition). For

Mayfest Hill
located along Loop 150 next to the American Legion
Hall has a covered pavilion show area and an open
arena where PRCA rodeo events are held each year
during Homecoming. This facility is available for
small and large events all during the year. Call
